And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. <P><B>Pickthall :</B> They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. <P><B>Sahih International :</B> So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding, <P><B>Pickthall :</B> So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair, <P><B>Shakir :</B> So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task, <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> So turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller will call to a highly maleficent thing, <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> So turn away from them! (this is the import of the preceding statement and it completes what is being said). On the day when the Summoner, namely, Isrf+l (yawma,  the day , is rendered accusative by yakhrujkna,  they will emerge , next [verse]), summons to an awful thing (read nukur or nukr, in the sense of munkar,  disagreeable ), [a thing] which the souls will find awful, and this is the Reckoning; <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Na kung kaya, pabayaan mo na sila, O Muhammad, at abangan mo na sa kanila ang pagdating ng dakilang Araw. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day." <P><B>Pickthall :</B> Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. <P><B>Shakir :</B> Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> With their heads protruding, (hurrying) to the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day!" <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> scrambling, hastening with their necks stretched out, toward the Summoner. The disbelievers, among them, will say:  This is a hard day! , a difficult one for disbelievers  as is stated in [skrat] al-Muddaththir, a day of hardship for the disbelievers [Q. 74:9-10]. <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Na sila ay nagmamadaling tumungo sa lugar na kung saan sila ay tinatawag, na sasabihin ng mga walang pananampalataya: Ito ay kagimbal-gimbal na Araw na napakasidhi. </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox1> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_9.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:9">54:9</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Miakambokhag ko onaan iran so pagtaw o Nkh sa piakam-bokhag iran so oripn Ami sa pitharo iran a <FONT SIZE="2"><sup><A HREF="#1644">1644</A></sup></FONT> pmbthangn ago rarasngn (ko kisampayin ko panolon) <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. <P><B>Sahih International :</B> The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled. <P><B>Pickthall :</B> The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. <P><B>Shakir :</B> Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> The people of Nuh (Noah) cried lies before them; so they cried lies to Our bondman and said, "A madman, " and he was scared. <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> The people of Noah denied (kadhdhabat has feminine inflection on account of the import [referring to a feminine noun], qawm,  tribe ) before them, before Quraysh. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined. <P><B>Pickthall :</B> And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. <P><B>Shakir :</B> And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> And We made the earth to erupt forth springs, so the waters met for a Command already estimated. <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> and We made the earth burst forth with springs, that flowed forth, and the waters, the waters of the heaven and the earth, met for a purpose, a circumstance, that was preordained, [a matter] which had been decreed since pre-eternity, namely, their destruction by drowning. <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Na kung kaya, nagpang-abot ang tubig ng kalangitan at ang tubig ng kalupaan upang sila ay puksain sa pamamagitan ng itinakda ng All�h sa kanila na parusa; bilang pagtumbas sa kanilang ginawang pagsamba ng iba bukod sa All�h </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox1> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_13.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:13">54:13</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Na tianggong Ami skaniyan sa (padaw) a adn a manga papan iyan ago manga pansar <FONT SIZE="2"><sup><A HREF="#1647">1647</A></sup></FONT> iyan (a datar o manga totok). <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails, <P><B>Pickthall :</B> And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: <P><B>Shakir :</B> And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> And We carried him upon (an Ark), well planked and well caulked, (Literally: comprising planks and caulks, with nails) <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> And We bore him, that is, Noah, on one, a ship, [made] of planks and nails (dusur is what boards are fastened down with of nails and the like; the singular is disr, similar [in pattern] to [kutub] kitb,  book ), <P><B>Tagalog :</B> At dinala Namin si N�h at ang sinumang sumama sa kanya sa sasakyang pantubig na pinagtagpi-tagpi na mga maninipis na pinagpuputol na kahoy sa pamamagitan ng pagpapapako sa mga ito, </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox2> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_14.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:14">54:14</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Sa phladlad sa nggolalan sa siap Ami a balas a rk o taw a miaadn a sianka (o pagtaw niyan) <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! <P><B>Sahih International :</B> Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. <P><B>Pickthall :</B> That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! <P><B>Shakir :</B> Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> Running under Our Eyes, a recompense for him who was disbelieved. (i.e., between the she-camel and them) <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> sailing before Our eyes, that is, in Our sights, in other words, [it was being] protected, as retaliation (jaz an is in the accusative because of the implied verbal clause, that is to say,  they were drowned by way of revenge ) for [the sake of] him who was rejected, namely, Noah, peace be upon him (a variant reading [for passive kufira] has kafara,  him who disbelieved , in other words, they were drowned as a punishment for them). <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Na ito ay lumalayag sa pamamagitan ng Aming pagmamasid at pangangalaga, at nilunod Namin ang mga walang pananampalataya; bilang kabayaran sa kanila sa di nila paniniwala at bilang pagtulong kay N�h. Is there then any that will recollect? <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> And verily We left it, We preserved this [deed], as a sign, for whomever might be admonished by it, in other words, the news of this [deed] became widely-known and endured. So is there anyone who will remember?, [anyone who] will take heed from, or be admonished by, it? (muddakir is actually mudhtakir, but the t has been replaced with a dl, likewise the dhl, and it [the dl] has been assimilated with it [the other dl]). <P><B>Tagalog :</B> At katiyakan, pinanatili Namin ang kuwento hinggil kay N�h at sa kanyang sambayanan bilang aral at katibayan na nagpapatunay sa Aming kapangyarihan sa sinumang darating pa pagkatapos ni N�h; upang maging aral ito sa kanila at pagpapayo sa anumang nangyari sa mga sambayanan na hindi naniwala sa All�h na kanilang  Rabb na Tagapaglikha, kung gayon, mayroon bang tatanggap ng paalaala o aral hinggil dito? </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox2> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_16.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:16">54:16</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Andamanaya dn i kiaadn o siksa Akn ago so lalangan Akn <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. <P><B>Pickthall :</B> Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? <P><B>Shakir :</B> How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> How then were My torment and My warnings? <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> How [dreadful] then were My chastisement and My warnings? We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. <P><B>Shakir :</B> Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> Surely We sent against them one Shout; so they were as the chaff of a pen-builder. <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> Indeed We unleashed upon them a single Cry, and they became like the chaff of a corral builder (al-muhtazir is one who makes a pen from dried tree-branches and thorns for his sheep, to protect them from wolves and beasts of prey; the fallen parts which they tread are called hash+m). <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Katiyakan, ipinadala Namin sa kanila si Jibril, at sumigaw sa kanila ng isang sigaw at kaagad na namatay silang lahat hanggang sa kahuli-hulihan sa kanila, na kung kaya, sila ay parang naging tuyong pananim na inihanda para ipakain sa kamelyo at iba pang mga hayop. </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox2> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_32.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:32">54:32</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Sabnar a libod Ami so Qur n ko kiphananadmn on, na ba adn a pd sa phananadm <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? <P><B>Pickthall :</B> And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? <P><B>Shakir :</B> And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> And indeed We have already made the Qur'an easy for remembrance. We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- <P><B>Shakir :</B> Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> Surely We sent against them a (squall of) gravel, except the house of Lut; (LOt) We safely delivered them before dawn, <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> Indeed We unleashed upon them a squall of pebbles, a wind hurling at them pebbles, namely, small stones, a single one [of these] being no larger than the palm of the hand, and they were destroyed; [all] except the family of Lot, namely, his two daughters, together with him, whom We delivered at dawn, from among the dawns, the morning time of an unspecified day (had a specific day been meant [for that mentioned dawn], it [sahar] would have been treated as a diptote [instead of the declined form saharin], being a definite noun derived from al-sahar, for with definite nouns one ought to use [the preceding definite article] al). So was the squall unleashed at first with the family of Lot [still there]? So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." <P><B>Sahih International :</B> And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." <P><B>Pickthall :</B> They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." <P><B>Shakir :</B> And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> And indeed they already solicited of him his guests, so We obliterated their eyes, (saying), "So taste My torment and My warnings!" <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> And they had even solicited of him his guests, that he should let them have their own way with those who had come to him as guests, that they may do wicked things with them  and these [guests] were angels. So We blotted out their eyes, We blinded them and made them without slits [so that they were continuous folds of skin] like the rest of the face, by having Gabriel smack them with his wing. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. <P><B>Shakir :</B> They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One. <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We took them (away) with the taking of an Ever-Mighty, Supreme Determiner. <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> Rather: They denied Our signs, all, nine, of them, which were given to Moses. Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? <P><B>Sahih International :</B> Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture? <P><B>Pickthall :</B> Are your disbelievers better than those, or have ye some immunity in the scriptures? <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? <P><B>Shakir :</B> Are the unbelievers of yours better than these, or is there an exemption for you in the scriptures? <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> Are your steadfast disbelievers more charitable (3) than those ones? Or even do you have an acquittal (from torment) in the Zubur? (i.e., better) <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> Are your disbelievers, O Quraysh, better than those?, mentioned [beginning] from the people of Noah to those of Pharaoh, which is why they have not been chastised? Or have you, O disbelievers of Quraysh, [been granted] some immunity, from chastisement, in the Scriptures?, the Books? (the interrogative in both instances is meant as a denial, in other words: it is not so). <P><B>Tagalog :</B> Ang mga walang pananampalataya ba mula sa inyo, O kayong mga Quraysh, ay mas nakahihigit kaysa sa mga nabanggit na mga tao na nauna sa inyo, na sila ay pinuksa dahil sa kanilang di-paniniwala? O di kaya ay mayroon ba kayong patunay o katibayan na naitala sa mga Banal na Aklat na ipinahayag sa mga Propeta na kayo ay ligtas mula sa kaparusahan ng All�h? </DIV> <DIV class=ayahBox2> <DIV dir=rtl style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><IMG src="quran/054_files/54_44.png" align=right></DIV> <H4><A name="054:44">54:44</A></H4> <P class=hma><B>Hassanor Alapa :</B> Antaa ka ba iran giitharoa a skami na lompokan a phanaban (a di ndaagn) <P><B>Muhsin Khan :</B> Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?" <P><B>Sahih International :</B> Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"? <P><B>Pickthall :</B> Or say they: We are a host victorious? <P><B>Yusuf Ali :</B> Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? <P><B>Shakir :</B> Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other? <P><B>Dr. Ghali :</B> Or do they say, "We, all together, will vindicate ourselves." <P><B>Tafsir Jalalayn :</B> Or do they, the disbelievers of Quraysh, say:  We are a host that will be helped to victory ?, against Muhammad (s)? Gianan so bandingan ko kialapay o ig ko masa o Nkh a miapolang so pagtaw niyan sa da dn a liamba kiran o Allh, ka opama ka adn a ikalimo iyan na ikalimo iyan so sakataw a babay a kagia lomapay so ig na miagapas sa boongan na kagia kasankay o ig na tomiabid ko poro o bobong na kagia masankay o ig na miamanik ko poro o palaw na kagia masankay o ig na iniporo iyan so wata iyan sa taman sa inigald dn o ig, na da dn kalimoon o Allh, sabap ko kianggolalan o katharo iyan a miagtas dn sa onaan a so kaziksaa niyan ko langowan a baradosa a da siran dn pangongonotan ko sogoan o Allh. <P><A name="1647"><U>1647</U></A>. So katharo a Dusur na madakl a inipmaana on o manga ulama a Salaf. Aya inipma-ana on o Ibn Abbs na skaniyan so manga pansar (totok) o padaw, so pman so Mujhid na aya kon a Dusur na so gosok o padaw so manga pakr iyan, na aya katharo o Ikrimah ago so al Hassan na gioto so rarb iyan a pkhirompak ko bagl, so ad Dahhk na gioto kon so mbalaa poro iyan a lolong ago olinan, go pitharo o al Uf+ a miakapoon ko Ibn Abbs a gioto so rarb iyan a pkhisowak iyan ko bagl. <P><A name="1648"><U>1648</U></A>.
