Muhsin Khan : Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.

Sahih International : Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -

Pickthall : Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things.

Yusuf Ali : Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;-

Shakir : Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things,

Dr. Ghali : Supremely Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the Kingdom, and He is Ever-Determiner over everything.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Blessed, exalted above the attributes of created beings, is He in Whose hand, at Whose disposal, is [all] sovereignty, [all] authority and power, and He has power over all things.

67:2

Hassanor Alapa : A so inadn Iyan so kapatay ago so kaoyagoyag ka an kano niyan katpngi o antaa rkano i lbi a mapia i galbk, a Skaniyan so Mabagr a Paririla

Muhsin Khan : Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;

Sahih International : [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

Pickthall : Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,

Yusuf Ali : He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-

Shakir : Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,

Dr. Ghali : Who created death and life to try you, whichever of you is fairest in deeds; and He is The Ever-Mighty, The Ever-Forgiving.

Tafsir Jalalayn : [He] Who created death, in this world, and life, in the Hereafter — or both of them in this world, since the sperm-drop is imbued with life, [life being] that [power] by which sensation becomes possible, death being the opposite of this or the non-existence of it — these being two [alternative] opinions; in the case of the latter [life in the Hereafter], ‘creation’ implies ‘ordainment’ — that He may try you, that He may test you in [this] life, [to see] which of you is best in conduct, [which of you] is most obedient to God, and He is the Mighty, in His vengeance against those who disobey Him, the Forgiving, to those who repent to Him;

Muhsin Khan : Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?"

Sahih International : [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

Pickthall : Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts?

Yusuf Ali : He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw?

Shakir : Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder?

Dr. Ghali : Who created seven heavens as strata (i.e., layers, one above the other). In no way can you see in the creation of The All-Merciful any disparity; so return your gaze; (Literally: "your" beholding) do you see any rent?

Tafsir Jalalayn : Who created seven heavens in layers, one above the other without any contact [between them]. You do not see in the Compassionate One’s creation, of these or of other things, any irregularity, any disparity or discordance. Then cast your eyes again, turn them toward the heaven: Do you see, in it, any fissure?, any cracks or ruptures?

67:4

Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na mbalingan inka milay sa ika dowa, ka mapato rka so kailay nka a malobay a ikokopay

Muhsin Khan : Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out.

Sahih International : Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

Pickthall : Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim.

Yusuf Ali : Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out.

Shakir : Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is fatigued.

Dr. Ghali : Thereafter return the gaze, again and again, (Literally: recurring twice) the gaze turns over to you spurned, and it (becomes) regretfully most weary.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Then cast your eyes yet again, once and then twice, and your sight will return to you humbled, abject on account of it not perceiving any fissure, and wearied, unable to see any fissure.

Muhsin Khan : And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.

Sahih International : And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

Pickthall : And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame.

Yusuf Ali : And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.

Shakir : And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning.

Dr. Ghali : And indeed We have already adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and made them outcast (meteorites) for Ash-Shayatin (The ever-vicious "ones", i.e., the devils) and We have readied for them the torment of the Blaze.

Tafsir Jalalayn : And verily We have adorned the lowest heaven, the one closest to the earth, with lamps, with stars, and made them missiles against the devils, should they [attempt to] listen by stealth, in which case a meteor of fire detaches itself from the star, just like a brand is taken from a fire, and either kills that jinn or deprives him of his senses: it is not that the star itself is displaced from its position; and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blaze, the ignited Fire.

67:6

Hassanor Alapa : Adn a bagian o siran oto a manga kafir ko Kadnan iran a siksa o Jahannam a marata a khabolosan

Muhsin Khan : And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

Sahih International : And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

Pickthall : And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end!

Yusuf Ali : For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination.

Shakir : And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort.

Dr. Ghali : And for the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord there is the torment of Hell; and miserable is the Destiny!

Tafsir Jalalayn : And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the chastisement of Hell, and [what] an evil journey’s end!, it is.

67:7

Hassanor Alapa : Igira inolog siran on na kan’gan iran sa dagoos a skaniyan 1805 na pndidi (so Naraka).

Muhsin Khan : When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.

Sahih International : When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.

Pickthall : When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up,

Yusuf Ali : When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth,

Shakir : When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves,

Dr. Ghali : When they are cast into it, they will hear it sighing, as it is boiling over.

Tafsir Jalalayn : When they are flung into it they hear it blaring, [producing] a horrid sound like that of an ass, as it seethes,

Muhsin Khan : It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?"

Sahih International : It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"

Pickthall : As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner?

Yusuf Ali : Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?"

Shakir : Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner?

Dr. Ghali : It would almost burst (asunder) with rage. Whenever a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, "Has no Warner come up to you?"

Tafsir Jalalayn : almost exploding (tamayyazu: a variant reading has the original [form] tatamayyazu) ripped apart, with rage, in wrath against the disbelievers. Whenever a host, a group of them, is flung into it, its keepers ask them, an interrogation of rebuke: ‘Did there not come to you a warner?’, a messenger to warn you of God’s chastisement.

67:9

Muhsin Khan : They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'"

Sahih International : They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, ' Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.' "

Pickthall : They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.

Yusuf Ali : They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'"

Shakir : They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error.

Dr. Ghali : They say, "Yes indeed, a Warner has already come to us; yet we cried lies and said, ?In no way has Allah been sending down anything whatever; decidedly you are in (nothing) except a great error. "'

Tafsir Jalalayn : They will say, ‘Yes, a warner did indeed come to us, but we denied and said, “God has not revealed anything; you are assuredly in great error”’: this [last words] may be the words of the angels [spoken] to the disbelievers when they are told of the denial, or they may belong to the words of the disbelievers [spoken] to the warners.

67:10

Hassanor Alapa : Go miatharo iran a opama ka miaadn kami a pphamakin’g odi na pphamimikiran na di kami maadn a makhipantag ami so kadg (o Naraka)

Muhsin Khan : And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"

Sahih International : And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

Pickthall : And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames.

Yusuf Ali : They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!"

Shakir : And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.

Dr. Ghali : And they say, "If we had heard or had considered, in no way would we have been among the companions of the Blaze".

Tafsir Jalalayn : And they will say, ‘Had we listened, that is, listening so as to understand, or comprehended, that is, comprehension entailing reflection [upon the truth], we would not have been among the inhabitants of the Blaze’.

67:11

Hassanor Alapa : Na miatarima iran so dosa iran na iniawat ko limo so manga taw o makadg a apoy

Muhsin Khan : Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

Sahih International : And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.

Pickthall : So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.

Yusuf Ali : They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire!

Shakir : So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire.

Dr. Ghali : So they confess their guilty (deeds); then far off with the companions (i.e., inhabitants) of the Blaze!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Thus they will confess, when confession is of no avail, their sin, which was their denial of the warners. So away (suhqan or suhuqan) with the inhabitants of the Blaze!, so far away may they be from God’s mercy.

67:12

Hassanor Alapa : Mataan a so siran oto a ipkhalk iran so Kadnan iran sa gayb 1806 na adn a bagian iran a rila ago balas a mala

Muhsin Khan : Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).

Sahih International : Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.

Pickthall : Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.

Yusuf Ali : As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward.

Shakir : (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward.

Dr. Ghali : Surely the ones who are apprehensive of their Lord in the Unseen will have forgiveness and a great reward.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Assuredly those who fear their Lord in secret, while they are absent from people’s eyes, being obedient to Him in secret, such that openly [before people] it is all the more likely [that they fear their Lord] — there will be for them forgiveness and a great reward, namely, Paradise.

67:13

Hassanor Alapa : Go solnn iyo so katharo iyo odi na payagn iyo skaniyan ka mataan a Skaniyan na katawan Iyan so matatago ko manga rarb

Muhsin Khan : And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men).

Sahih International : And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

Pickthall : And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).

Yusuf Ali : And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts.

Shakir : And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts.

Dr. Ghali : And be secret in your speech, or say it aloud; surely He is Ever-Knowing of the (inmost thoughts) within the breasts (Literally: what the breasts own).

Tafsir Jalalayn : And [whether you] keep secret, O people, your speech or proclaim it, He indeed, exalted be He, is Knower of what is in the breasts, of what they contain: so how much more so [is He Knower] in the case of what you utter [openly] — the reason for the revelation of this [verse] was that the idolaters said to one another: ‘Speak secretly, and Muhammad’s god will not hear you’.

67:14

Hassanor Alapa : Ba Niyan di katawi o antaa so miangadn a Skaniyan so Mananaw a Gomgpa

Muhsin Khan : Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything).

Sahih International : Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?

Pickthall : Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware.

Yusuf Ali : Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them).

Shakir : Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware.

Dr. Ghali : Will He not know, (He) Who created? And He is The Ever-Kind, The Ever-Cognizant.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Will He Who has created not know?, what you keep secret, in other words: will His knowledge of [things] be precluded by such [secret speech]? And He is the Subtle, in His knowledge, the Aware, therein.

Sahih International : It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.

Pickthall : He it is Who hath made the earth subservient unto you, so Walk in the paths thereof and eat of His providence. And unto Him will be the resurrection (of the dead).

Yusuf Ali : It is He Who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse ye through its tracts and enjoy of the Sustenance which He furnishes: but unto Him is the Resurrection.

Shakir : He it is Who made the earth smooth for you, therefore go about in the spacious sides thereof, and eat of His sustenance, and to Him is the return after death.

Dr. Ghali : He is (The One) Who made the earth tractable to you; so walk in its territories and eat of His provision; and to Him is the Rising up.

Tafsir Jalalayn : It is He Who made the earth tractable for you, easy for you to walk on; so walk in its flanks and eat of His provision, that has been created for you; and to Him is the resurrection, from the graves for the Requital.

Muhsin Khan : Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)?

Sahih International : Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?

Pickthall : Have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not cause the earth to swallow you when lo! it is convulsed?

Yusuf Ali : Do ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)?

Shakir : Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion.

Dr. Ghali : Do you (feel) secure that He Who is in the heaven will not cause the earth to cave in on you? (For) then, only then, it will be whirling!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Are you secure (read a-amintum pronouncing both hamzas fully, or by not pronouncing the second one, inserting an alif between it and the other one, or without [the insertion] but replacing it with an alif instead) [in thinking] that He Who is in the heaven, [that He] Whose authority and power [is in the heaven], will not cause the earth to swallow you (an yakhsifa substitutes for man, ‘He Who’) while it quakes?, [while] it moves underneath you and rises above you?

Sahih International : Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.

Pickthall : Or have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane? But ye shall know the manner of My warning.

Yusuf Ali : Or do ye feel secure that He Who is in Heaven will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones), so that ye shall know how (terrible) was My warning?

Shakir : Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning.

Dr. Ghali : Or even do you (feel) secure that He Who is in the heaven will not send against you a squall of gravel? So you will soon know how My warning is!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Are you secure [in thinking] that He Who is in the heaven will not unleash (an yursila substitutes for man, ‘He Who’) upon you a squall of pebbles?, a wind hurling pebbles at you. But you will [soon] come to know, upon seeing the chastisement with your own eyes, the nature of My warning, My warning of chastisement, in other words, [you will soon see] that it was true.

Yusuf Ali : But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?

Shakir : And certainly those before them rejected (the truth), then how was My disapproval.

Dr. Ghali : And indeed the ones even before them already cried lies; then how was My disclaiming!

Sahih International : Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.

Pickthall : Have they not seen the birds above them spreading out their wings and closing them? Naught upholdeth them save the Beneficent. Lo! He is Seer of all things.

Yusuf Ali : Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.

Shakir : Have they not seen the birds above them expanding (their wings) and contracting (them)? What is it that withholds them save the Beneficent Allah? Surely He sees everything.

Dr. Ghali : And have they not regarded the birds above them outstretching (Or: in ranks) (their wings), and contracting (Or: spreading "or" folding their wings) (them)? In no way can anyone hold them except The All-Merciful; surely He is Ever-Beholding everything.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Or have they not seen the birds above them, in the air, spreading their wings and closing?, their wings after spreading them? (in other words [read wa-yaqbidna] as wa-qābidātin [similar to sāffātin, ‘spreading’]). Nothing sustains them, from falling, either when they are spreading them or closing them, except the Compassionate One, by His power. Indeed He is Seer of all things. The meaning is: have they not inferred from the fact that the birds [are able to] remain in the air that We have the power to do with them what has been mentioned above as well as [inflicting upon them] other kinds of chastisement?

Pickthall : Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion.

Yusuf Ali : Nay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers.

Shakir : Or who is it that will be a host for you to assist you besides the Beneficent Allah? The unbelievers are only in deception.

Dr. Ghali : Or even who is this that will be a host for you to vindicate you, apart from The All-Merciful? Decidedly the disbelievers are in nothing except delusion.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Or who (am-man: the subject) is it (hādhā: its predicate) that (alladhī: a substitution for hādhā, ‘is it’) will be an army, supporters, for you (lakum belongs to the relative clause of alladhī, ‘that’) to help you (yansurukum is an adjectival qualification of jundun, ‘an army’) besides the Compassionate One?, that is to say, other than Him, who [is there that] will [be able to] avert His chastisement from you, in other words, you have no helper. The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion: Satan has deluded them [into believing] that the chastisement will not befall them.

Pickthall : Is he who goeth groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walketh upright on a straight road?

Yusuf Ali : Is then one who walks headlong, with his face grovelling, better guided,- or one who walks evenly on a Straight Way?

Shakir : What! is he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright upon a straight path?

Dr. Ghali : Then, is he who walks tossed down upon his face better guided than he who walks (perfectly) level on a straight Path?

Tafsir Jalalayn : Is he who walks cast down, fallen, on his face more rightly guided, or he who walks upright on a straight path? Dr. Ghali : Say, "Have you seen (that) in case your water becomes in the morning deep-sunken, (i.e., in the earth) then who would come up to you with (i.e., bring) profuse water?"

Tafsir Jalalayn : Say: ‘Have you considered: If your water were to sink deep into the earth, who then will bring you running water?’, which hands and buckets would be able to reach, like [they do] your water: in other words, none but God, exalted be He, would be able to bring it, so how can you reject that He will resurrect you? It is commendable for one to say Allāhu rabbu’l-‘ālamīna, ‘God, Lord of the Worlds!’, after ma‘īn, ‘running water’, as is stated in a hadīth. This verse was recited before a certain tyrant who then replied, ‘Hatchets and pickaxes will bring it!’, whereupon the water of his eyes dried up and he became blind. We seek refuge with God against that we should be insolent towards Him or His verses.
