Tafsir Jalalayn : Has there not come to you, O disbelievers of Mecca, the tidings, the story, of those who disbelieved before and thus tasted the evil consequences of their conduct?, [they tasted] the punishment for disbelief in this world. And there will be for them, in the Hereafter, a painful chastisement?

64:6

Muhsin Khan : That was because there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs (signs), but they said: "Shall mere men guide us?" So they disbelieved and turned away (from the truth), and Allah was not in need (of them). And Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.

Sahih International : That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allah dispensed [with them]; and Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

Pickthall : That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they said: Shall mere mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.

Yusuf Ali : That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise.

Shakir : That is because there came to them their messengers with clear arguments, but they said: Shall mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised.

Dr. Ghali : That is for that their Messengers kept coming up to them with the supreme evidence (s), yet they said, "Will (mere) mortals guide us?" So they disbelieved, and turned away; and Allah dispensed with them; and Allah is Ever-Affluent, (Literally: Ever-Wealthy; Ever-Rich) Ever-Praiseworthy.

Tafsir Jalalayn : That, chastisement in this world, is because (bi-annahu contains the pronoun of the matter) their messengers used to bring them clear signs, manifest proofs for [the validity of] faith, but they said, ‘Shall [mere] humans (basharan is meant as generic) be our guides?’ So they disbelieved and turned away, from faith, and God was independent, [without need] of their faith. And God is Independent, [without need] of His creatures, Praised, praiseworthy in His actions.

Sahih International : Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allah , is easy."

Pickthall : Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah.

Yusuf Ali : The Unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgment). Say: "Yea, By my Lord, Ye shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. And that is easy for Allah."

Shakir : Those who disbelieve think that they shall never be raised. Say: Aye! by my Lord! you shall most certainly be raised, then you shall most certainly be informed of what you did; and that is easy to Allah.

Dr. Ghali : The ones who have disbelieved have asserted that they will never be made to rise again, Say, "Yes indeed, by my Lord! Indeed you will definitely be made to rise again, and indeed you will definitely be fully informed of whatever you did; and that is easy for Allah."

Tafsir Jalalayn : Those who disbelieve claim that (an is softened, its subject having been omitted, that is to say, annahum) they will never be resurrected. Say: ‘Yes indeed, by my Lord! You will be resurrected; then you will be informed of what you did. And that is easy for God’.

Sahih International : So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Qur'an which We have sent down. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.

Pickthall : So believe in Allah and His messenger and the light which We have revealed. And Allah is Informed of what ye do.

Yusuf Ali : Believe, therefore, in Allah and His Messenger, and in the Light which we have sent down. And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

Shakir : Therefore believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Light which We have revealed; and Allah is Aware of what you do.

Dr. Ghali : So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Light which We have sent down; and Allah is Ever-Cognizant of whatever you do.

Tafsir Jalalayn : So believe in God and His Messenger and the Light, the Qur’ān, which We have revealed. And God is Aware of what you do.

Muhsin Khan : (And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of Gathering, that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain (i.e. loss for the disbelievers as they will enter the Hell-fire and gain for the believers as they will enter Paradise). And whosoever believes in Allah and performs righteous good deeds, He will remit from him his sins, and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) to dwell therein forever, that will be the great success.

Sahih International : The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.

Pickthall : The day when He shall gather you unto the Day of Assembling, that will be a day of mutual disillusion. And whoso believeth in Allah and doeth right, He will remit from him his evil deeds and will bring him unto Gardens underneath which rivers flow, therein to abide for ever. That is the supreme triumph.

Yusuf Ali : The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that will be the Supreme Achievement.

Shakir : On the day that He will gather you for the day of gathering, that is the day of loss and gain; and whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will remove from him his evil and cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever; that is the great achievement.

Dr. Ghali : The Day (when) He will gather you for the Day of Gathering, that will be the Day of Mutual Fraud. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness, He will expiate for him his odious deeds and cause him to enter Gardens from beneath which rivers run, eternally (abiding) therein forever. That is the magnificent triumph.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Mention, the day when He will gather you for the Day of Gathering, the Day of Resurrection, that will be the Day of Dispossession, [on which] the believers will dupe the disbelievers by occupying [what would have been] their places in Paradise, had they believed, as well as [appropriating] their [believing] spouses. And [as for] those who believe in God and act righteously, He will absolve them of their misdeeds and admit them into gardens underneath which rivers flow (a variant reading for both verbs has the first person plural) wherein they will abide. That is the supreme triumph.

64:10

Muhsin Khan : But those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they will be the dwellers of the Fire, to dwell therein forever. And worst indeed is that destination.

Sahih International : But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.

Pickthall : But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, such are owners of the Fire; they will abide therein - a hapless journey's end!

Yusuf Ali : But those who reject Faith and treat Our Signs as falsehoods, they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein for aye: and evil is that Goal.

Shakir : And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, they are the inmates of the fire, to abide therein and evil is the resort.

Dr. Ghali : And the ones who have disbelieved and cried lies to Our signs, those will be the companions (i.e., inhabitants) of the Fire, eternally (abiding) therein; and miserable is the Destiny!

Tafsir Jalalayn : And [as for] those who disbelieved and denied Our signs — the Qur’ān — those, they will be the inhabitants of the Fire, wherein they will abide. And [what] an evil journey’s end!, it is.

Muhsin Khan : No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything.

Sahih International : No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah . And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

Pickthall : No calamity befalleth save by Allah's leave. And whosoever believeth in Allah, He guideth his heart. And Allah is Knower of all things.

Yusuf Ali : No kind of calamity can occur, except by the leave of Allah: and if any one believes in Allah, (Allah) guides his heart (aright): for Allah knows all things.

Shakir : No affliction comes about but by Allah's permission; and whoever believes in Allah, He guides aright his heart; and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

Dr. Ghali : In no way is there any affliction that afflicts, except it be by the permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart; and Allah is Ever-Knowing of everything.

Tafsir Jalalayn : No affliction strikes except by the leave of God, by His decree. And whoever believes in God, in His saying that every affliction is by His decreeing [it], He will guide his heart, to endure it [patiently]. And God is Knower of all things.

Pickthall : Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.

Yusuf Ali : So obey Allah, and obey His Messenger: but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Messenger is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly.

Shakir : And obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn back, then upon Our Messenger devolves only the clear delivery (of the message).

Dr. Ghali : And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; yet if you turn away, then surely it is for Our Messenger only (to deliver) the evident proclamation.

Tafsir Jalalayn : And obey God and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away, then the Messenger’s duty is only to communicate [the Message] clearly.

64:13

Hassanor Alapa : So Allāh a da a Tuhan a rowar Rkaniyan ago sii ko Allāh na zarakan on so miamaratiaya

Pickthall : Allah! There is no Allah save Him. In Allah, therefore, let believers put their trust.

Shakir : Allah, there is no god but He; and upon Allah, then, let the believers rely.

Dr. Ghali : Allah! There is no god except He. And in Allah let the believers then put their trust.

Tafsir Jalalayn : God — there is no god except Him. And in God let [all] believers put their trust.

Shakir : O you who believe! surely from among your wives and your children there is an enemy to you; therefore beware of them; and if you pardon and forbear and forgive, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Dr. Ghali : O you who have believed, surely among your spouses and your children there is an enemy to you, so beware of them. And in case you show clemency, and pardon, and forgive, then surely Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.

Tafsir Jalalayn : O you who believe! Indeed among your wives and children there are enemies for you, so beware of them, of obeying them in neglecting [the performance of] good [deeds], such as struggling or emigrating — because the reason why this verse was revealed was [precisely their] obedience [of them] in such [matters]. And if you pardon, them, for their impeding you from such good [deeds], justifying it on account of the distress that parting with you causes them, and overlook [such enmity] and forgive, then assuredly God is Forgiving, Merciful.

64:15

Hassanor Alapa : Mataan a so manga tamok iyo ago so manga wata iyo 1790 na tioba, na so Allāh na adn a matatago On a balas a mala.

Muhsin Khan : Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).

Sahih International : Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.

Pickthall : Your wealth and your children are only a temptation, whereas Allah! with Him is an immense reward.

Yusuf Ali : Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of Allah, is the highest, Reward.

Shakir : Your possessions and your children are only a trial, and Allah it is with Whom is a great reward.

Dr. Ghali : Surely your riches and your children are only a temptation; (as for) Allah, in His Providence is a magnificent reward.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Your possessions and your children are only a trial, for you, distracting [you] from the concerns of the Hereafter, and God — with Him is a great reward, so do not forfeit it by preoccupying yourselves with possessions and children.

64:16

Hassanor Alapa : Na kalkn iyo so Allāh sa khagaga niyo, ago pamakin’g kano ago pangongonotan kano ago nggasto kano ka aya mapia ko manga ginawa niyo, sa dn sa taw a lindingn ko kaligt o ginawa niyan na siran oto so miamakadaag.

Muhsin Khan : So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey; and spend in charity, that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful ones.

Sahih International : So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah ]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.

Pickthall : So keep your duty to Allah as best ye can, and listen, and obey, and spend; that is better for your souls. And whoso is saved from his own greed, such are the successful.

Yusuf Ali : So fear Allah as much as ye can; listen and obey and spend in charity for the benefit of your own soul and those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity.

Shakir : Therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah as much as you can, and hear and obey and spend, it is better for your souls; and whoever is saved from the greediness of his soul, these it is that are the successful.

Dr. Ghali : So be pious to Allah as best as you can, (Literally: as much as you are able to) and give ear, and obey, and expend; (that is) most charitable (i.e., best) for yourselves. And whoever is protected against the avarice of his self, then those are they who are the prosperers.

Tafsir Jalalayn : So fear God as far as you can — this abrogates His saying: Fear God as He should be feared [Q. 3:102] — and listen, to what you have been enjoined to, listening disposed to accept, and obey and expend, in obedience [to Him]; that is better for your souls (khayran li-anfusikum is the predicate of an implied yakun, ‘[that] is’, and the response to the imperative). And whoever is shielded from the avarice of his own soul, such are the successful, the winners.

Hassanor Alapa : Amay ka pagotangan iyo so Allāh sa otang a mapia na thaktakpn Iyan rkano (so balas iyan) ago rilaan kano Niyan (ko manga dosa niyo) so Allāh na Pananalamat a Mananaw

Muhsin Khan : If you lend to Allah a goodly loan (i.e. spend in Allah's Cause) He will double it for you, and will forgive you. And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing,

Sahih International : If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allah is Most Appreciative and Forbearing.

Pickthall : If ye lend unto Allah a goodly loan, He will double it for you and will forgive you, for Allah is Responsive, Clement,

Yusuf Ali : If ye loan to Allah, a beautiful loan, He will double it to your (credit), and He will grant you Forgiveness: for Allah is most Ready to appreciate (service), Most Forbearing,-

Shakir : If you set apart for Allah a goodly portion, He will double it for you and forgive you; and Allah is the Multiplier (of rewards), Forbearing,

Dr. Ghali : In case you lend to Allah a fair loan, He will double it for you, and will forgive you; and Allah is Ever-Thankful, Ever-Forbearing,

Tafsir Jalalayn : If you lend God a good loan, by giving voluntary alms out of the goodness of [your] hearts, He will multiply it for you (yudā‘ifhu: a variant reading has yuda‘‘ifhu), from tenfold up to seven hundredfold or more for each one — this [loan] being the giving of voluntary alms out of the goodness of the heart — and He will forgive you, whatever He will, and God is Appreciative, rewarding of obedience, Forbearing, in refraining from [always] punishing disobedience;

Hassanor Alapa : A katawan Iyan so gayb ago so kamamasaan a Mabagr a Maongangn.

Sahih International : Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Pickthall : Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, the Mighty, the Wise.
